Student Information Overview

Homework

Homework or independent work is an important part of your education. It has several functions:

  • Diagnostic - It enables your teacher to assess your understanding
  • Reinforcement - It gives you the chance to practise skills learnt in class
  • Extension - It allows you the opportunity to challenge yourself
  • Research - It shows you how to read around a subject and explore how it links with other learning
  • Resilience - It helps you to plan your time, meet deadlines, and overcome obstacles

Remember

Students who regularly complete homework are more successful in exams. Presentation is important. Always do your homework as carefully as you can, proofread your work for spelling, punctuation etc. before handing it in.
