- House System
Students at Chertsey High School feel a sense of belonging and a sense of responsibility towards themselves and others and our House system is just one way in which we can do this. At Chertsey High School we pride ourselves on being an extra-ordinary school with people at the heart and where the sense of community is strong. Our outstanding personal development is different from almost all other schools and really does put our students first. Tutor groups comprise of students from the same year and each tutor group is linked to a house, each with its own strong identity.
Since the launch of the Student Action Team, we've closely collaborated with student representatives to gather ideas and feedback on Chertsey High's current house system. This teamwork led to introducing new initiatives aimed at developing our house system. House competitions during tutor time have sparked healthy competition and collaboration among students. Looking ahead to the next academic year, we're eager to introduce further enhancements to our house system. Expanding leadership roles within each house will empower students to shape their house experience, while house-themed events, celebrations, and community outreach projects will allow students to showcase creativity and make a positive impact beyond the school.
Students are allocated a House when they join and stay in that House throughout their time at Chertsey High. They are encouraged to earn points for their House through their studies and get the chance to take part in regular competitions with the other Houses.
